POV: My First Week Of Maternity Leave…

Since starting my maternity leave last week, I've made a conscious decision to share more authentically, so you can truly get to know the true craziness behind the brand 🫠. Hi, I'm Charity. I'm expecting my first child, a little boy due in early May, with my husband Lewis, who also doubles as the chief Palm Honey post office deliverer.

As a Type A personality, not having a structured routine this week has been a bit of a challenge, to say the least. But let me take you through my first week of maternity leave...

hi, this is me. I love Pyjamas. These do not really fit me but I have made them fit this week to make myself feel more put together. p.s. I know the light fittings look ugly. We’ve lived here for over 2 years and STILL not a single light is sorted because of my extreme indecisiveness 🙃

I am actually half way through a 2 year MA in Digital Marketing and Communications (alongside a full time job, running Palm Honey and being pregnant lol. I told you Type A personality got me good…) I had a presentation on Monday to mark the end of my first year so I spent my whole day practicing (aka talking to myself out loud for HOURS) and then doing that 💻

strawberries and Nutella on toast, might be a weird pregnancy thing but trust me don’t sleep on it 🍓

my daily walkies when Lewis gets home from work 🚶‍♀️ I would go in the day but I actually have fear that my waters might break when I’m on my own miles from home 🤣

hot chocolate in a glass mug with whipped cream and marshmallows

a CLASSIC garden centre and hot choc trip with my Mum and Grandad. fun fact, I don’t like (normal) tea or coffee but I love the smell of it 🤷🏼‍♀️ caffeine and me are also not compatible 🫨

making my pre-pregnancy clothes fit so that I feel slightly put together!! I haven’t bought any maternity clothes (except two work dresses) so not much fits me at this stage because instead I’m spending all my money on clothes for bub (that he will probably fit for a hot minute) rather than myself 🙃

the morning sun peeping through light thin curtains. Ikea wardrobes and a plant in the corner.

finally, TRYING to relax + enjoy my slow and peaceful mornings. although waking up at 5am with pregnancy insomnia is not ideal it’s possibly my bodies way of preparing me for the lack of sleep that is likely to come!
